Topic: “Myanmar: Recent Economic Changes and Investment Opportunities”

Rotary Club of Hong Kong cordially invites you to join us for a very special Lunch Meeting on 4 September 2012. We are honored to have Mr Wai Lwin Than, Consul-General of the Union of Myanmar to give us a talk on “Myanmar: Recent Economic Changes and Investment Opportunities”.

As you have been aware of, Myanmar has opened up a new era of proper democratization and market economic system under the new government since last year. The significant progress on the political and economic reform programs have earned international recognition resulting in the relaxation of sanction imposed by western countries. Many international assistance including Japanese ODA, the World Bank, and IMF are now on the way.

The talk will cover the topics such as:

(1) Economic Changes under the present government

(2) Salient Incentives in the new Foreign Investment Law

(3) Current Investment Situation in Myanmar and the role of Hong Kong
