Be A Mentor and Inspire the New Generation

Post date: 06-Oct-2011 05:46:51

Dear Rotarians and Friends,

I would like to invite you and your associates to show support to youth development by signing up as a mentor for the upcoming mentoring programme with our sponsored school, Chiu Lut Sau Memorial Secondary School.

We had big success with the CV Workshop and Mock Job Interview last year. Over 40 students participated in both events and the feedback from both the school and the students were very positive.

This year we will extend the momentum and offer mentorship opportunities to help students plan their career and cultivate generic skills.

Mentoring Period: Nov 2011 – May 2012

1. Role of Mentors

1.1. Give career guidance, case sharing, and advice on workplace etiquette, interpersonal skills, communication skills, etc., through informal meetings, workplace visits, and communications via email, letters or phone calls

1.2. Mentors are expected to meet their mentees at least twice at mutually agreed time and location during the mentoring period

1.3. Mentors to complete an evaluation form by end of programme

2. Optional

2.1. Each mentor can choose to take up one to two mentees

2.2. Mentor may offer job shadowing or internship

2.3. Mentor may give assignment to mentee

We need your support! Please help invite your associates to be a mentor as well, more mentors mean more students may benefit from this programme.

Interested parties, you could register online or email your information (Name, Name of Company, Position held, Contact address, and Contact nos) to me at Elaine.tong@hkwtl.com

Thanks and best regards,

Elaine Tong
