About Nicolas Brooke

Nicholas Brooke is the Chairman of the Hong Kong Harbourfront Commission, which was established to co-ordinate the planning, design, implementation and management of the various initiatives around the harbour with the intention of creating a world class waterfront to frame Hong Kong’s world class harbour. The Harbourfront Commission is seen as the ongoing champion of Hong Kong’s most important natural asset and its role is to bring life, connectivity and vibrancy to the waterfront. More recently Mr Brooke has led Commission efforts to become a full statutory authority so that it can directly deliver outcomes currently entrusted to the Administration.

Nicholas Brooke is also the Chairman of Professional Property Services Limited which is a specialist real estate consultancy, based in Hong Kong and of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. He is a recognised expert on land and planning matters and has been proactive in promoting Hong Kong Science Park’ sustainability and green technologies agenda.

He is a former President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and was the first overseas surveyor to be accorded that honour. He is a Justice of the Peace, a former Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Town Planning Board and a former member of the Hong Kong Housing Authority. He is also a member of the Innovation and Technology Steering Committee and of the Steering Committee on the Promotion of Electric Vehicles.

On 30 June 2012 Mr Brooke was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star for his role in promoting Hong Kong as a centre for innovation and technology development.
