About Clive Hunter - Born in England, Clive came to Asia to work in China for 6 months and in Hong Kong for 17 years. He has one daughter in England and a son in Australia. Whilst working for a number of global companies in a variety of management positions. He was fortunate enough to be able to overlay his love of the English language by giving instruction at all levels from Primary school students to Business Managers. This is ongoing. He is motivated by playing even a small part in improving the standards of English knowledge in Hong Kong including himself. Any spare time, he would spend on his third passion - golf. The talk will cover his impressions of the development ( or lack of ) of English during his 17 years in Hong Kong. It will include: 1) A brief history of the English language.

2) Its importance.

3) The varying standards - normal or abnormal?

4) Common errors - perpetuated.

5) How we can help.
